Corner View - Taste

I spent last weekend at home studying material and writing papers for my class, The Vietnam Experience.  As a treat and a sensory pick-me-up, I got take-out tofu panang from  a local Thai restaurant.  The spices woke me up and helped motivate me.  (Panang is one of my favorite things in life... I could eat it three meals a day, seven days a week.)

Another favorite taste - veggies fresh from the garden.  Not a large yield, but enough for a small tasty salad.

And another off topic photo of Harry... just because he's so darned cute!

Senior picnic with our Freshman "little sisters" - Memphis 1986.   (I'm second from the right.)  It was a fun day filled with junk food, silly games and girl talk.

Off topic photo - but isn't it cute??  Chip with HIS little sisters, Pippa and Tara.

And another off topic... Chip sharing his breakfast with his little brother, Harry.

Small things are often the best things - such as finally setting aside a day to plant a Spring veggie and herb garden.  (Nothing from seeds this year - way too late in planting as it is!)

CV - Something to Celebrate

Something to celebrate... KITTENS!

May I introduce you to Pippa, Harry (the ginger kitty) and Tara/Panda.  Mama Cat's LAST litter. I will catch her and get her spayed.  As soon as the kittens are weaned, I'm drugging her food!  Still, isn't my little Harry precious?  Reminds me of his big sister, my beloved (and still missing), Wills.

Usually rejuvenation refers to a person... however, I am using it to describe my favorite planter that was rusting on the patio until it was recently rejuvenated :-)

A visit to the Doge's Palace last year inspired me to FINALLY go back to school.

I gave Chip a hug from all of you last week. And now he wants to show you his swanky new "gripper" socks that enable him to stand and walk better on the floors.     (Yes, my dog now wears socks...)

For those of you "veteran" corner-viewers, you may have gathered that I am a big animal person and usually have multiple dogs.  In January, I lost my Noni. For the first time in nearly 20 years, I only have one dog, my beautiful Chipper.  Chip is over 15 and has some health issues (cancer and bad arthritis).  We probably only have another month - maybe two - together.  Rather than getting sad, I am keeping him "close by" and trying to make what little time we have left together happy for him.  My roommate (his "Auntie Cindy") is spoiling him as well and his grandma has sent him several boxes of homemade dog treats.
