Corner View is a weekly appointment - each Wednesday - created by Jane and currently curated by Francesca, where bloggers from all corners of the world share their view on a pre-arranged theme. If you'd like to join in, please leave a link to your Corner View post in the comments at www.fuoriborgo.com, and be sure to visit other participants, too.
I am very close to my parents-closer to them than I am either of my sisters. After all, both of my sisters were on their own and living in other cities before I was even in high school. So, for high school and university years, I had my parents all to myself. (I did go away for university, but still returned home for holidays and the odd weekend.) As my father travelled a lot when I was in high school and, for the most part, was only home on weekends. It was just me and my mother during the week. While we fought as is typical of teenaged girls and their mothers, some of my fondest memories are from that time. I remember we would eat “Lean Cuisine”for dinner and then split a half a dozen donuts for dessert. If I had a day off, we would often pack a picnic lunch and go for a drive in the country. We even used to do "drive bys" of boyfriends and/or potential boyfriends houses - even getting caught one time... I could go on and on and on, but I'll stop here and share one of my favorite photos of me and my mom. This photo sits on my piano and is a constant reminder of a lovely spring break trip we took together in 1987. The photo is not so great, but the memories are.
Happy corner viewing!
[On an unrelated note, this will be my last CV until late June or early July. I am getting ready for a three week trial that begins June 4th out of town. Thus, the rest of May will be work, work and more work.]
