I was looking forward to showing you my adopted hometown in this corner view.  However, I've caught the flu - so this is where I've been living for the past several days.

In hindsight, maybe some of my favorite '80s fashions were not so fashionable...

That's me on the right in the groovy pink jeans with purple flowers, pink sweater and purple tie dye t-shirt...

I was actually thin back then... the flower jeans sure don't show it though, do they?

And this get up... it is bad on sooooo many levels...

And there are pink jeans again (but a different boy :-) ).  I loved those jeans - what was I thinking???

St. Patrick's Day at Leu Gardens

The local botanical garden, Leu Gardens, had it's annual plant sale yesterday.  It was a beautiful day to be in the gardens looking at all of the wonderful plants being offered.

Our carts full of goodies.

My favorite purchase of the day - lavender.

In honor of St. Patrick's day, after the plant sale, we treated ourselves to some vegan Irish Strew and port.

The view from our table.

Every day should be like yesterday!

My Great Uncle

I was going through some old photos the other day and came across this one of me and my Great Uncle Herb, who I mentioned in a previous post (http://oaktreecourtdesigns.blogspot.com/2012/01/corner-view-black-and-white.html).  Wasn't he a handsome fellow?  This was taken in 1985 in Bristol, England.

Words & Pictures - High School

I have to preface this post by saying that I am glad that we did not have cell phones with cameras or any such technology when I was in high school.  If my parents knew what I was up to, I would have never been let out of the house...  Having said that, the one drawback is that I have few photos from this time and the ones I have are "high" quality like this one. The below is photo after a high school dance.  I'm not sure if it's Junior or Senior year.  My friend's older brother spent most weekends out-of-town at his girlfriend's and he would let us use his empty house to hang out in... as you can see, there may have been a "little" partying going on - a couple of the girl's raided Lance's closet and were wearing his clothes instead of their party dresses.  Luckily, I was the photographer...

Saturday was the annual 5k to benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.  The event is held on the campus of the University of Central Florida ("UCF").  Their athletic teams are the 'Knights.'  Here is a monument we passed on the walk.  (Okay, technically it's just a statue, but why split hairs??)

Here are some more photos from the walk:

This is one of the bands who were set up sporadically throughout the course to entertain the walkers and runners.

The UCF mascot.

And, being the mature middle-aged women that we are... we couldn't pass the giant noses without taking a booger shot!
