Corner View - Open Doors

Corner View is a weekly appointment - each Wednesday - curated by Francesca, where bloggers from all corners of the world share their view on a pre-arranged theme. If you'd like to join in, please leave a link to your Corner View post in the comments at www.fuoriborgo.com, and be sure to visit other participants, too.

An open door says, “Come in.”
A shut door says, “Who are you?”
Shadows and ghosts go through shut doors.
If a door is shut and you want it shut,
     why open it?
If a door is open and you want it open,
     why shut it?
Doors forget but only doors know what it is
     doors forget.

                        By Carl Sandburg

I spent last week with family who welcomed me with open arms and open doors.  Father Winter opened his doors as well and we had a white Thanksgiving.

However, all good things must come to an end and no matter how much fun you had, when you are 464.8 miles into a 675 mile return trip...
...you are very happy to be welcomed back to your home state.

Happy corner-viewing!

  1. Wonderful words... for a nice family and beautiful doors opened on snow and sun :)

  2. I'm glad you had a light dusting of snow for the holiday!

  3. one door gives you snow and the other one sunshine!!

  4. Just drove by his house this weekend! Thankfully only snow on the ground.

  5. The weather's been cold here in Hawaii too! But most certainly not snow worthy. :P

  6. I love the poem about doors, and your poetic approach to the story of your post!!♡

  7. gosh, from snowy landscapes back into florida mood... that is quite a contrast, and not just of doors. poem is touching. n♥

  8. Brrrrrrrrrrr.... that looks real cold! So please feel free to close the door and leave the heart open...

  9. Love to see snow. Thanks for opening your doors;)

  10. the snow must have created the perfect atmosphere (though no doubt it wasn't fun to drive in it!)
