Words & Pictures - High School

I have to preface this post by saying that I am glad that we did not have cell phones with cameras or any such technology when I was in high school.  If my parents knew what I was up to, I would have never been let out of the house...  Having said that, the one drawback is that I have few photos from this time and the ones I have are "high" quality like this one. The below is photo after a high school dance.  I'm not sure if it's Junior or Senior year.  My friend's older brother spent most weekends out-of-town at his girlfriend's and he would let us use his empty house to hang out in... as you can see, there may have been a "little" partying going on - a couple of the girl's raided Lance's closet and were wearing his clothes instead of their party dresses.  Luckily, I was the photographer...

  1. Dear Heather, It was a nice party and good memories of our young lives. I never went a party when I was on high school like you. My family never allowed me to go outside. You think all parties were in our house with my family..))

  2. Apparently, all the control we have on our kids' lives - thanks to technology - is not producing better, safer or more responsible adults. Quite the reverse. It was a different world, but back then, when parents didn't know what kids were up to, I was given the house keys at age 13 (like my siblings), and was expected to be back by whatever time (on the early side) my parents would tell me, no delays no matter what, few questions asked. I wish I had photos of those times :)
