Corner View - Leaf

Corner View is a weekly appointment - each Wednesday - created by Jane and currently curated by Francesca, where bloggers from all corners of the world share their view on a pre-arranged theme. If you'd like to join in, please leave a link to your Corner View post in the comments at www.fuoriborgo.com, and be sure to visit other participants, too.

Every Autumn when the leaves change color, my mother sends me a leaf from her yard as I live in a hot climate without the beautiful seasonal changes.  As luck would have it, my "annual leaf" arrived this Saturday - just in time for this week's corner view.

Happy corner viewing!

  1. This is so sweet! I'll keep it in mind for when my kids are older - not that there will be any real need, though: they won't be allowed to move away! :)

  3. That is so nice. As much as I dislike winter I don't think I would like to miss autumn's colours.

  4. My mother would send me leaves in her letters every fall. Ihave a little cookbook that still has a little maple leaf in it. Momm passed away in July and I miss her so much, but when I saw your post it was as if she was letting me know she is all around me. Thank you!

    1. I like to visit him on holiday, but I don't miss him on a day to day basis as I like wearing shorts in October and November. Having said that though, I have a burning desire to move to Edinburgh at the moment... can't wear shorts there much in the summer!

  12. Such a lovely gesture to remind you to the change of seasons! Wonderful tradition. And a very sweet way of your mom to tell you that she's thinking of you all the time... :o)
I can't imagine living without the change of seasons, even if I love warm climate and sometimes long for warmth in winter...but I also love those colourful trees in autumn, first snow in winter and the spring awakening after months of grey!

  13. That is super sweet, your mom sounds like a very romantic lady. My mom too would send me packages with little notes on everything... as in "socks for after bath" :) Really pretty tradition!
