Corner View - Fauna

Corner View is a weekly appointment - each Wednesday - created by Jane and currently curated by Francesca, where bloggers from all corners of the world share their view on a pre-arranged theme. If you'd like to join in, please leave a link to your Corner View post in the comments at www.fuoriborgo.com, and be sure to visit other participants, too.
A butterfly photo I took at the local botanical gardens, Leu Gardens.

A great blue heron at the pond behind my house.

One of the tree frogs that live in my entranceway.

Willie, the wild jungle cat playing in the oak tree in the backyard.

And from my photos from Kenya a lilac breasted roller  - I fell in love with these birds in Africa!

Another one of my favorites from Kenya - the secretary bird.

I will be out of town for the next two Wednesdays, so I won't be participating in the next two corner views.   I am going to Memphis.  I grew up there, but haven't been back for a visit in almost 12 years.  (Shame on me!)  I am so excited and promise to bore all of you with sappy, sentimental posts upon my return.

I hope you all have a great next two weeks!

Happy Corner Viewing!

  1. That Kenyan bird looks hand-painted but, Willie looks like the wildest of the lot!

  2. That lilac breasted roller does look like it's been dyed in mulit-colors like folks sometimes do around here for Easter(shame on them).
The secretary bird should be called a 'boss' bird--looks quite in charge. But then often times the secretary is the one in charge.;>)
Great photos. My favorite is the 'wild' cat. He He!:>)
Enjoy your trip! I just got back from TX and had a wonderful time. You will be missed.

  4. Oh, Heather, what a trip (to Memphis) that must be! I feel like I "grew up" in London, and yet I haven't been there in 18 years - long enough that I don't know what I'd find anymore, if anything at all. I hope you find your memories, your roots, and more.
    Happy travels!
